Influenza vaccine supply chain report

Published online:
16 September 2020
Influenza vaccine supply chain report.

This report was commissioned by the Ministry in May 2020 to examine the supply and distribution of influenza vaccines and identify improvements for the 2021 influenza season and beyond.

It was produced by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), and highlights ten areas of focus grouped into the following themes of authorising and political environment, the strategic goals of the programme, and the organisation and system capabilities.

Correction: The Ministry and PWC acknowledge this report incorrectly states on page 14 “The balance of vaccination delivery shifted from GPs to pharmacies in the 2020 season as the majority of GPs were temporarily closed due to COVID-19,” which was based on feedback from a key stakeholder.

We understand the majority of GP practices remained open during the lockdown and continued to deliver vaccinations. We apologise for this error.

This report is temporarily unavailable while we update it with the correction.
