Māori health Hauora Māori

Increasing access to health services, achieving equity and improving outcomes for Māori.

The study is coordinated by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation . The study aims to quantify health loss for 204 countries and territories. 

The Ministry of Health has a long-established relationship with the Institute in working together to provide regular releases of national-level GBD estimates for New Zealand. For the 2021 study we have also produced estimates of health loss for Māori in New Zealand.
