Services Standard

The Ministry of Health administers the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001 (‘the Act’). The Act requires providers of health services to be certified against the relevant standard. The relevant standard is Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard NZS 8134:2021

The Standard sets out the steps providers need to take to ensure they are providing safe, quality services. It also outlines what people can expect from the services they receive.
