Setting the direction for our new health system

Achieving pae ora

We should all feel we can get to and experience quality health services, no matter who or where we are. It is not enough to deliver good outcomes for some groups of people while others are left behind. Our health system must focus on fairness and improved health and wellbeing for all of us. We must also use our resources wisely and effectively to achieve the best outcomes possible.

We also know that a lot of the illness, disease and harm that people experience can be prevented so that people can live healthier lives.

Manatū Hauora is developing a series of health strategies, which will set out our health service priorities and system improvements over the next 5–10 years. We are working with Te Aka Whai Ora and Te Whatu Ora on this mahi.

Tātou – our online discussion space

We need your help and input as these strategies are being drafted – so that we can better address the inequities and variation we have seen across the health system.

Tātou is Manatū Hauora’s online discussion platform. You can visit Tātou anytime you like, as many times as you like, to have your say.

Right now, we want to know about your experiences of good health and what helps or gets in the way of being or feeling well and healthy. We’d also like to hear your thoughts about the future and how we can make sure the people who come after us will enjoy good health and wellbeing.

Sharing your ideas will help us understand problems and think about solutions.

Visit Tātou to share your thoughts and ideas now.

There will be different ways to share your aspirations and experiences of health and wellbeing in Aotearoa.
