Disclaimer for Canterbury DHB data
The Ministry discovered an issue assigning some events to Canterbury district (previously DHB) of service in May 2018. This issue was corrected for all reports released since May 2018. However, prior reports have not been amended to take this into account.
There have been some changes in data recording for short-stay Emergency Department (ED) cases in Christchurch since Dec 2020 when they moved to the new hospital. This has reduced the number of inpatient records for services where the patients come into hospital via the ED. Instead of being reported to NMDS these events are now included in NNPAC data only.
