The estimated total sales for notifiable products (vaping, smokeless tobacco, and herbal smoking products) sold for 2024 is at least $280 million. This estimate is only based on specialist vape retailers’ sales data and is based on incomplete data.
While the quality of data entry has improved from previous years, it is not recommended that the data is used for in-depth research or analysis.
The Ministry received 3,125 annual returns for the 2024 calendar year. The returns have been published by license code.
The license codes are:
- RPS (general retailer)– 1,970 returns
- AVP (specialist retailer) – 1,009 returns
- AIS (specialist internet retailer) – 83 returns
- Notifier (importers and manufacturers) – 63 returns
