The Compliance Guide for Dental Radiology including Dental Cone Beam CT: ORS G4 2025 (ORS G4 2025) is advisory only. The compliance guide aims to provide some information for organisations and individuals that are required to hold a source licence under the Radiation Safety Act 2016, dental practitioners, manufacturers/suppliers and service engineers on their roles in safely managing and controlling radiological equipment used for intra-oral, panoramic and cephalometric dental procedures (traditional dental X-ray units) and cone beam computed tomography dental procedures (CBCT dental X-ray units).
The compliance guide provides some guidance on some of the more common compliance issues arising for dental facilities in meeting the requirements of radiation safety legislation, in particular the Code of Practice for Dental Radiology: ORS C4 2024 (for traditional dental X-ray units) and the Code of Practice for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology: ORS C1 2024 (for CBCT dental X-ray units).
