The Ministry of Health carried out a review of the PPDF in 2018, with the aim to identify ways to improve the PPDF process and guide future investment. The review findings are presented in this report.

Objectives for the review were to:

  1. describe operational challenges faced by Pacific health providers
  2. assess the PPDF effectiveness
  3. identify future focus of PPDF investments.

The review proposes nine recommendations to address the challenges faced by Pacific health providers and to strengthen the PPDF process. It also offers opportunities for improved collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Pacific health providers.

The Ministry of Health is currently developing a post review implementation plan in response to the recommendations.
