The Government recognises that the series of earthquakes experienced in Canterbury since September 2010 have increased demand on mental health services.
On 21 March 2016, the Minister of Health announced a $20 million package of initiatives to increase mental health support for people in Canterbury over the next three years.
The funding package is the latest in a series of support packages the Government has provided Canterbury through a range of agencies since the earthquakes began.
