Hauora Māori Advisory Committee

The Hauora Māori Advisory Committee consists of 8 members. They were appointed by the Minister of Health after consultation with the Minister for Māori Development.

The Hauora Māori Advisory Committee has identified 9 population priorities for Māori health that it will use as the focus of its monitoring. 

The Hauora Māori Advisory Committee publishes monitoring reports for its 9 population priorities for Māori health. These reports provide insights on system performance and population health trends.

In March 2023, the Minister and Associate Minister of Health commissioned the committee to undertake a high-level assessment of the early progress and plans of the Māori Health Authority – Te Aka Whai Ora.
