Public Health Advisory Committee

The Public Health Advisory Committee (PHAC) provides independent advice to the Minister and Associate Ministers of Health, the Public Health Agency, Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand), and Te Aka Whai Ora (Māori Health Authority) on public health issues, including factors underlying the health of people, whānau, and communities.

The Public Health Advisory Committee is an independent expert advisory committee established under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022. The committee looks at the long-term health challenges facing New Zealand and advises on innovative and practical solutions.
