Ministerial decisions taken to amend the Radiation Safety Regulations 2016 (the Regulations)

Proactive release of Ministerial decision-making documents.

Publication Date:
10 July 2023

These documents outline the ministerial decisions taken to amend the Radiation Safety Regulations 2016 (the Regulations). The amendments made significant percentage increases to the application fees payable to the Ministry of Health for radiation safety authorisations (licences and consents). The amendments also made relatively minor changes to the grading of radiation practices into compliance monitoring categories (which determines the source licence fees payable) and other changes to clarify the meaning of some provisions in the Regulations.

A Cost-recovery impact statement (CRIS) accompanied the decision-making process.
