Residential disability services must notify the Ministry of Health before undertaking any of the following changes:

  • changing patient or client capacity
  • transferring existing clinical services
  • introducing a new clinical service
  • constructing a new facility
  • any combination of the above.

To notify the Ministry, log into the PRMS system and use the “Add Services or Change Premises” link on the left-hand side.

The Director-General of Health must be satisfied that any proposed reconfiguration or capacity increase will not compromise the provider’s ability to meet required standards.

Once HealthCert receives your form, we will assess:

  • the level of risk associated with the proposed change
  • whether a partial provisional audit is required before the facility can be occupied.

This audit helps demonstrate continued compliance with to the standard.
