The cost recovery impact statement (CRIS) was prepared to support decision-making on proposals to amend the Radiation Safety Regulations 2016 (the Regulations). The CRIS evaluates proposals for significant percentage increases to the application fees payable to the Ministry of Health for radiation safety authorisations (licences and consents). The CRIS also evaluates proposed changes to the refunds payable by the Ministry of Health. Further evaluation is provided on relatively minor changes to the grading of radiation practices into compliance monitoring categories (which determines the source licence fees payable) and other minor changes to clarify the meaning of some provisions in the Regulations.

Full details on the changes and the decision-making process are available at Radiation Safety Fees and Regulations Review 2021.
