A seed supply activity allows:

  • import of cannabis seeds under an import licence
  • export of cannabis seeds under an export licence
  • purchase of cannabis seeds from a licensed cultivator
  • supply of seeds to a medicinal cannabis licence holder with the cultivation activity specified.

A seed supply activity is appropriate if you intend to act as a seed merchant only.

If you intend to import or export cannabis seeds, you will also need to apply for a controlled drug import or export licence for each shipment. The seeds you import must also meet the biosecurity requirements of  MPI Import Health Standard IHS 155.02.05.

A declaration of illicit seeds and plants cannot be made under a seed supply activity.
