How We Eat is a review of the available evidence on the effect of selected eating behaviours on diet and body size. The topics reviewed are: breastfeeding, parental feeding practices and parenting style, adult role modelling, responsive eating, mealtimes and food literacy. A review of relevant New Zealand research was included.

The evidence was assessed using a process developed by the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council.

The outcome of the review is a series of evidence statements for different life stages relating to the behaviours reviewed.

How We Eat is an issue-based document within the Eating and Activity Guidelines Series.
