Increasing access to health services, achieving equity and improving outcomes for Māori.

The clinical management of long COVID in New Zealand is led by Health New Zealand, which is responsible for the delivery of health services to people with long-term conditions.

Care of people with long COVID is mainly provided through primary health care, including GPs, nurses and multi-disciplinary teams.

More information on long COVID can be found on the Health New Zealand website.

The purpose of this document is to highlight the complexity and potential long-term needs of people recovering from COVID-19 and to demonstrate the importance of the allied, scientific and technical workforce in reducing the short- and long-term health and wellbeing implications of COVID-19 infection.
