The Office of Radiation Safety wish everyone who uses our services a safe and restful holiday period.
We will be closed for the holiday period from the end of the day, Tuesday 23 December 2025 and re-open on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
We encourage everyone who may need to submit a licence or consent application over the holiday period to submit their application form before Friday 12 December 2025.
Licence and consent application forms received by us before 5.00pm Friday 12 December 2025 will be acknowledged and invoiced.
Application forms received after 12 December 2025 will be acknowledged and invoiced once financial processing recommences on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
If your licence is due to expire between 12 December 2025 and Wednesday 7 January 2026, please ensure that your renewal application form is received by us before the licence expiry date. A renewal application received by us before the expiry date will enable your existing licence to remain in force while your renewal application is being determined.
Application forms received from Wednesday 7 January 2026 are likely to be subject to delays in processing applications and issuing invoices due to the expected volume of work following the holiday closedown period. Therefore, please also ensure that your completed application for renewal is received by us before the licence expiry date.
Enquiries received after Wednesday 17 December 2025 that are not related to licence or consent applications will also be processed when we re-open on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
