Publication date:

The Ministry of Health has published new data on adult New Zealanders’ self‑reported experiences of COVID‑19 and long COVID, drawn from the 2024/25 New Zealand Health Survey.

The New Zealand Health Survey is a nationally representative survey that provides information about the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. The latest results include responses to new questions asking whether adults have ever had COVID‑19, and whether they have experienced ongoing symptoms lasting three months or longer following infection (long COVID).

The findings are based on self‑reported information, as is the case for most survey data. They sit alongside other New Zealand Health Survey results on health status, long‑term conditions and access to health care.
