The Ministry will host a media briefing to provide updates on the response to the Omicron outbreak at 12:00pm today.

The Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield will be joined by Deputy Director-General, Public Health Agency Dr Andrew Old.

Clarification on case count

The case numbers and 7-day case average provided by the Director-General of Health in the press briefing on 19 July covered all cases reported on 19 July, including 348 imported cases.

Excluding imported cases, on 19 July we reported 10,424 community cases, with a seven-day rolling average of 9,528.
