The Ministry of Health is inviting written feedback on its draft Long-term Insights Briefing - Precision health: Exploring opportunities and challenges to predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat more precisely in Aotearoa. Precision health is a growing field and there are opportunities to share future advances in a coordinated way across the health system.

The draft briefing has been informed by targeted engagement and public consultation. This found there was strong support for exploring opportunities and potential to ensure New Zealand is positioned to take advantage of future precision health opportunities in a way that incorporates health equity and cultural safety.

The purpose of the briefing, which will be submitted to Parliament following this second round of consultation to inform the final report, is to set the foundation for a value-led framework to guide any future decision making. Engagement around this will be ongoing.
