Summary

In May 2022, Cabinet agreed that Pharmac take over responsibility for future purchasing and portfolio management of COVID-19 vaccines from 1 July 2022. Manatū Hauora, on behalf of the Crown, transferred the remaining supplier contracts to Pharmac in November 2022. The following documents are released in the interest of transparency and public trust in the process of government decision making.

Redactions have been made under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) as:

  • 6(a) prejudice the security or defence or international relations of New Zealand,
  • 6(b)(i) entrusting of information in confidence to the Government of New Zealand,
  • s9(2)(a) for privacy,
  • s9(2)(b)(ii) for commercial sensitivity;
  • s9(2)(ba)(i) subject to an obligation of confidence
  • s9(2)(g)(i) to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank expression of opinions; and
  • s9(2)(j) to enable negotiations without prejudice or disadvantage.
