These documents have been proactively released by the Ministry of Health on behalf of the Minister of Health, Hon Dr Shane Reti.

The Cabinet paper seeks to update the Cabinet Social Outcomes Committee with a vision and plan for Māori health following the disestablishment of the Māori Health Authority. It proposes reporting back to Cabinet by the end of this year with a refreshed Māori Health Strategy. The vision and plans in this paper support the coalition Government’s commitment to driving improvements in health outcomes, and achieving the health targets.  The proposals in this paper follow on from the completion of the Government’s 100-day plan commitment to disestablish the Māori Health Authority and reassign its functions (100-24-MIN-0001 refers).
