Summary of project/aims

Background

The two studies reported here are three year extensions of previously reported studies:

These studies investigated the effectiveness of telephone-based interventions for addressing problem gambling.

Methods

One study is a randomised controlled trial that compared four different types of telephone based interventions. The other study is an uncontrolled outcome study for participants who received a standard gambling ‘helpline’ service.

Final reports

There is one report available below on the 36-month outcomes for problem gambling participants in the randomized trial; and there is a second report on the 36-month outcomes for participants in the ‘uncontrolled’ extension of the trial. A summary of findings for each report is available on this page.
