    The New Zealand Maternity Clinical Indicators are a integral part of the Ministry of Health’s Maternity Quality Initiative. These indicators are evidence based and cover a range of procedures and outcomes for mothers and their babies in 2010. This second report of benchmarked clinical maternity data will be used to support the local clinical review of maternity services.

     The Maternity Consumer Survey 2011 contains two separate reports: the Maternity Consumer Satisfaction Survey of women who had live babies, which was carried out by Nielsen NZ, and the Maternity Consumer Survey of Bereaved Women, which was carried out by Research NZ with support from Sands NZ.

    Maternity Factsheet, 2001–2010, is the first maternity publication reporting on data from the recently completed National Maternity Collection.  The National Maternity Collection includes data from hospital-based maternity events, birth registrations, and community-based primary care.

    The National Maternity Collection (MAT) provides statistical, demographic and clinical information about selected publicly-funded maternity services up to nine months before and three months after a birth.

    Maternity Snapshot 2010 is the latest maternity data published by the Ministry of Health. It contains summarised 2010 hospital data on women who have given birth in hospital and babies that were either born in hospital or admitted soon after.

    Maternity Snapshot 2009 contains summarised 2009 hospital data on women who have given birth in hospital and babies that were either born in hospital or admitted soon after.

    This report is the third in a series of on-line publications reporting on hospital maternity data as recorded in the National Minimum Dataset. The publication includes maternal and newborn demographic information as well as some clinical and procedural data associated with the birth event.
