The New Zealand Health Survey (NZHS) provides information about the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. The NZHS became a continuous survey in 2011, enabling the publication of annual updates on the health of New Zealanders.

This report presents the 2013/14 results from the New Zealand Health Survey, for both adults and children. The report includes information on health behaviours and risk factors, health conditions and access to health services.
This publication shows how New Zealand is progressing towards being smokefree in 2025 by providing a snapshot of tobacco use in New Zealand, using data from the 2012/13 New Zealand Health Survey.
Information collected through the New Zealand Health Survey supports the development of health services, policy and strategy. Survey data is collected continuously but findings are reported annually.
The 2013/14 results provide data for people selected for the survey from July 2013 to June 2014. The 2013/14 survey collected information from 4699 children aged 0–14 years, and 13,309 adults aged from 15 years.
This guide provides detailed information on the definitions of all the indicators in the survey report. For each of those indicators, the guide also provides the relevant questions asked within the NZHS questionnaires.
