Status of Guidelines for Tuberculosis Control in New Zealand 2010: to be reviewed.

Note: Recent evidence suggests that the guidance given for treatment of tuberculosis in the Guidelines for Tuberculosis Control in New Zealand 2010, in particular, Chapter 3 (Treatment of tuberculosis disease), needs to be revised.

Any treatment concerns should be discussed with an appropriate clinician (respiratory / infectious diseases / paediatric) in your area.


Summary

The Guidelines for Tuberculosis Control in New Zealand 2010 contain up-to-date information on the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients. Includes information on infection control and best practice for dealing with people who have Tuberculosis.

The guidelines were approved, for use now, by the Tuberculosis Advisory Group. The guidelines are a living document and will be updated periodically.
