About us
Awarua Whānau Services is a kaupapa Māori health provider service whose target group are Māori and Pacific Island but we service all ethnicities. We deliver our service to Invercargill, Bluff, Gore, Mataura, Wyndham, Lumsden, Ohai, Nightcaps, Riverton and all areas in between.
We are fieldworkers and have several strands within our organisation. We cater for the needs of whānau from conception to kaumātua. Our clients come from referrals from services within the community or self referrals.
Health and disability services we offer
- Mother and pēpi – conception to six weeks including antenatal service, pregnancy preparation and care, breastfeeding
- Tamariki Ora – birth to five years including Well Child checks, kaiāwhina extra support work
- Whānau Ora – tamariki to kaumātua including health education, footcare, registered nurse visits, whānau support, Whānau Tautoko – health plans, whānau programmes
