About us
Te Manu Toroa (TMT) was established in 1997 to provide kaupapa Māori primary health services within the main Nga Kuri-a-Wharei ki Otamarakau region.
Based in central Tauranga, TMT has continued to grow and expand its services to support the growing local population. These include:
- Two GP clinics
- Nursing clinic
- Primary mental health services
- School and clinic dental services for tamariki and rangatahi
- Community nursing services
- Health and wellness therapies
- Mobile vaccination clinic
TMT has remained steadfast in ensuring that the services it provides have a kaupapa Māori focus.
Health and disability services
TMT provides a full range of primary health services, predominantly to Māori, such as:
- GP services
- Community nursing
- Dental for 0–18 years
- Mental health – CAMS, home-based support and NASC
- Health promotion
- Tamariki Ora services
- Health and wellness therapies including: mild hyperbaric chamber therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy and traditional Māori mirimiri therapy
