New Zealand hospitals use the classification system developed by the World Health Organization and modified by permission for Australian Government purposes.
This classification system includes; the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
