The National Health Emergency Plan: Multiple Complex Burn Action Plan provides direction to the health sector in the event of a burn emergency in New Zealand.
The purpose of the Plan is to provide national direction on what should be done when a Regional Burn Unit or the National Burn Service are overwhelmed. The Plan documents an agreed sequence of events to be implemented in the event of a national burn emergency and outlines the roles and responsibilities of Ambulance, District Health Boards, National Burn Centre / Regional Burn Units and the Ministry of Health.
