Reading RSS/Atom feeds in a web browser

An RSS ‘feed’ is a stream of content updates from a website. RSS is short for 'Really Simple Syndication' or 'Rich Site Summary'

Some web browsers (eg, Internet Explorer) can be used to read RSS/Atom feeds:

  1. When you’re on a site that has RSS, the RSS icon that is near (or in) the Address bar changes from grey to orange.
  2. Click on it to view the feed.
  3. You’ll see an option to Subscribe to the feed. Click on this to add the feed to your Favourites/Bookmarks. You can then open this area from time to time to view updates.
