The revenue reported from sales in 2022 is approximately $404 million. This includes manufacturers, importers, and specialist vape retailers. It does not include general retailers, such as dairies or grocery stores.
This figure is also inclusive of all notifiable products (vaping, smokeless tobacco and herbal smoking products).

The market estimate is based on the information that has been entered correctly, but due to the errors it is difficult to ascertain its accuracy. For this reason, the data contains significant error and should not be relied upon for thorough research and analysis.

The Ministry of Health received approximately 950 returns for the 2022 calendar year. Returns are grouped by region for ease of publishing. As the Auckland region is so large, it is split into three groups, ordered alphabetically.
