Categories and fees
Source licence application forms are available at the bottom of this page. Information for applicants on source licence categories and fees is available in the table below.
The application fees for establishing a new (first time) source licence are higher for the first year of the authorisation. Applicants wishing to establish a new source licence need to use a New Source Licence application form to ensure that the necessary information is provided to establish the authorisation. Application fees for the renewal or variation of an existing source licence do not include the higher fee for the first year of the authorisation. Applicants wishing to renew or vary an existing source licence need to use a Renewal or Variation of a Source Licence application form.
The table below provides an indication of the practices or activities that may be included in compliance monitoring categories. The information is provided for the guidance of applicants only. Following the assessment of any application received, the Director for Radiation Safety reserves the powers set out in the Radiation Safety Act 2016 to determine the correct compliance monitoring category to apply to any source licence that is granted.
Category code | Compliance monitoring category | Indication of practices or activities that may be included in the compliance monitoring category | Annual fee (including GST) for the first authorisation year of a new source licence (ie, for the first year only of a new source licence only | Annual fee (including GST) for all other authorisation years (ie, the second and third year of a new source licence, if any, and for all years of a renewed source licence) |
