Summary

Infectious Diseases Attributable to Household Crowding in New Zealand: A systematic review and burden of disease estimate explores the relationship between household crowding and 10 close contact infectious diseases (CCIDs).

The report includes a description of New Zealand studies that explore the impact household crowding has on health outcomes. The report also explores the burden of infectious disease resulting from household crowding. The authors conclude that household crowding is an important risk factor for the transmission of most major categories of CCIDs.
