Summary

In February 2010, the Ministry of Health released a consultation paper, Consultation on Proposed Amendments to Regulations under the Medicines Act 1981, describing a set of proposals designed to modernise provisions in the Medicines Regulations 1984 and the Medicines (Standing Order) Regulations 2002. Changes were recommended to labelling, advertising, dispensing and prescribing requirements. Feedback on proposals was sought by 26 March 2010.

The Ministry received 84 submissions on the proposals from a wide cross-section of affected stakeholders. This publication summarises feedback on each proposal, and the Government's final decisions on changes to regulations made under the Medicines Act.
