Summary
This report presents the activities and recommendations of the National Maternity Monitoring Group (NMMG) in their first year of operation (2012/13).
The NMMG was established by the Director General of Health in 2012 to provide oversight of New Zealand’s maternity system and specifically the implementation of the New Zealand Maternity Standards. The NMMG acts as a strategic adviser to the Ministry of Health on areas for improvement in the maternity sector and provides a national overview of the quality and safety of New Zealand’s maternity services.
