Mental health: Service use in New Zealand 2001/02 to 2006/07

Published online:

Summary

This information presents all the mental health data normally published in the Appendix tables in the series Mental Health: Service use in New Zealand for the years ended 30 June 2002 to 2007. The data was drawn from the Mental Health Information National Collection (MHINC), and covers secondary mental health and alcohol and drug services funded by the Government. Previous issues in the series contained December year data only, but we are aware that some users may wish to have this data available for financial years.

These figures may be regarded as final. However, if late data from some District Health Boards is loaded before the MHINC database is closed down this year, the figures will be updated immediately online. A hard copy of these tables will not be produced. Please note that 2005 figures for Northland and Bay of Plenty District Health Boards are not fully complete due to systems errors, and it is unlikely that they will be updated in the future.

In addition to the Appendix tables referred to above, tables showing information on Length of stay for inpatient clients and Methadone service clients are included. New Zealand population tables for five-year age groups and ethnicity are also attached.

The list below shows all the tables available for each of the four financial years, 2001/02 to 2006/07.
