Summary

This report outlines the key findings of the Auckland Wide healthy Homes Initiative co-design project that took place between October 2015 and September 2016.

The Southern Initiative (TSI) design team was asked to help develop practical solutions for families who are part of the Auckland Wide healthy Homes Initiative (AWHI).

The project’s focus was on engaging with families and stakeholders to identify relevant prototypes. As part of the process, the team held in-depth interviews with families and AWHI coordinators to understand the experience of families involved in the process.

Based on the interviews and insights, the team mapped out the journey for , coordinators and landlords. Following a workshop with stakeholders, the team agreed on a number of prototypes to develop and test. These prototypes included:

  • possible working bee to address housing issues and introductory letter to private landlords
  • financial support, such as vouchers for struggling with heating
  • supplying and installing curtains.
