The Innovation: Integration of Kaiawhina in Primary Care
Turanga Health’s service innovation revolved around the integration of kaiawhina alongside primary care, and in particular with general practice.
The intent of the innovation was two-fold and focused on the ability to link service users of the general practice with external support systems, and to link the role of the kaiawhina as an integral team member alongside the nurse and general practitioner, to assist the patient journey towards wellbeing.
