A summary of what you need to know when applying for a Hauora Māori Scholarship and the help available for putting together a comprehensive application.
The application process is very competitive so allow enough time to prepare the best application possible. We strongly recommend that you submit your application well before the closing date. This allows for any technical or other issues to be resolved before the 'Apply now' portal closes.

|Closing date||Allow time for proof-reading, scanning and uploading documents. Applications close at 5.00 pm, Friday 26 March 2021.|
|Eligibility criteria||Check that you meet the scholarship criteria – see Guidelines for applicants.|
|Referee||Nominate a referee: check the criteria – see Preparing an application.|
|Scholarship category||Select only one category – see Scholarship categories.|
|Assessment criteria||Read up on how your application will be assessed – see ‘How will the application be assessed?’ at Guidelines for applicants.|
|Saving electronic documents||
Use these formats when saving files: PDF, Word (.doc), Excel (.xls).
A file attachment must be smaller than 10 Megabytes.
|Online account||Create an online account.|
|Application code||Keep your original acknowledgement email with your unique application code. You need the code to log back into your draft application.|
|Signing the Certificate of Accuracy||Tick the box at the bottom of the page.|
|Evaluation programme||You may be asked to give us feedback as part of the evaluation programme – see ‘Hauora Māori Scholarship evaluation’ at Guidelines for applicants.|
Help with your application
If you need advice to help develop a good application, your tertiary provider may know of workshops that you could attend.
Alternatively, you can contact Kia Ora Hauora, a national Māori workforce development programme that provides support to students and current health workers on a health study pathway.
