Providers are invited to submit examples of good design that support the principles included in the resource Secure Dementia Care Home Design.

Exemplars on the website will be reviewed regularly and Providers are invited to submit exemplars for consideration and inclusion on the website. The Advisory Panel will meet to consider any new applications several times a year.
The following examples of good design, submitted by providers of dementia care in New Zealand, showcase the design principles included in the resource. The information is presented under each principle it relates to.
The design principles are:
- gardens and environs
- care home size and density
- colour and contrast
- lighting
- managing environmental stimulation
- memory aid/cues and floor plan
- community links.
