Current situation

Quarantine-free travel with Australia
Following an assessment of the COVID-19 outbreak in greater Melbourne, New Zealand’s pause on Quarantine-Free Travel with Victoria will continue until Thursday 17 June.

There are more locations of interest in Queensland (5–8 June 2021) and New South Wales (1–5 June 2021).  Please note that there are new locations of interest in Victoria since 18 May 2021.

Pre-departure testing has been introduced for some travellers. Note that you must be able to provide a valid PCR testing report at check-in. Find out what you need to do: pre-departure testing.

All of New Zealand is at Alert Level 1

  • You are legally required to wear a face mask or covering on all public transport and flights throughout New Zealand.

Anyone who has cold or flu symptoms, including muscle aches and fatigue, should get a test and stay home until you have a negative test result. Find your local testing facility on the Healthpoint website.
