Current situation

New South Wales quarantine free travel pause
Quarantine Free Travel between New Zealand and New South Wales paused at 11.59pm on 6 May 2021. For more information see our latest media release.

Section 70 order issued
A Section 70 order has been issued for people arriving from New South Wales since 27 April. Find out more.

Travel from very high risk countries
The Government has created a new ‘very high risk country’ category that will reduce the risk of high numbers of infected people flying to New Zealand. See the Travel from very high risk countries section for more information.

Quarantine-free travel with the Cook Islands and Australia

All of New Zealand is at Alert Level 1

  • You are legally required to wear a face mask or covering on all public transport and flights throughout New Zealand.

Anyone who has cold or flu symptoms, including muscle aches and fatigue, should get a test and stay home until you have a negative test result. Find your local testing facility on the Healthpoint website.
