Developmental evaluation of disability support services

Disability service providers are independently evaluated to help ensure they are meeting contractual requirements to deliver quality supports.

The evaluation tools and reporting templates were updated in 2020 to be more outcomes-focussed and now explicitly address how the EGL principles should be implemented into practice. The updated tools include a survey which will allow us to collect more meaningful data about the lives and experiences of disabled people.

The independent evaluators will use these tools for the following services that MOH contracts for:

  • Community residential disability services
  • Flexible Disability Supports
  • NASCs.

These tools are currently in draft and are going to be tested in the field during 2020/2021 and may be subject to further refinements. These new and refreshed tools and the insert of EGL principles into all Ministry-funded disability contacts are a positive step forward to help drive system change.

Summary evaluation reports

Evaluation summary reports are published as evaluations are completed. They fully protect the rights and confidentiality of all people in the disability service evaluated.

Summary evaluation reports are provided for evaluations completed after 1 July 2015.
