Health interoperability

In 2017 agencies, groups and individuals from across the health sector signed up to the Commitment to New Zealand Health Interoperability.

Sharing health data and information plays an important part in enabling the success of this vision and is required to support safe, good quality health care. Interoperability is essential to ensure that data and information can be accessed by clinicians, patients and their carers ‘anywhere, anytime and anyhow’ while ensuring relevant standards, privacy and security requirements are met.

To reach this vision and accelerate the shift to a fully interoperable digital health ecosystem, we have published an interoperability roadmap.
