Today we have released regional results from the NZ Health Survey using a new interactive tool, the Regional Data Explorer.

These regional statistics supplement the 2016/17 New Zealand Health Survey national results published in December 2017.

The regional data can be broken down in one of three ways:

  • by district health board (DHB)
  • by regional council
  • by public health unit (PHU).

The regional release contains approximately 150 indicators such as mental health, unmet need, obesity, tobacco and alcohol use. The data was collected from 14,100 children (aged 0 to 14 years) and 40,900 adults (15 years and over) from July 2014 to June 2017.
