The Hospital Redevelopment Partnership Group (HRPG) has given the green light for facilities planning work to begin on the refurbishment of Parkside and associated buildings on the Christchurch Hospital campus.
The HRPG has appointed Destravis to undertake health planning services in conjunction with CCM. Their role is to design the functionality and layout of the refurbished building. Initial work with the Canterbury DHB will begin this week.
“Parkside is currently the main building on the Christchurch Hospital campus. Post the completion of the Acute Services Building in 2018, it will be refurbished to house clinical services and is expected to be complete in 2021,” HRPG spokesperson Murray Cleverley says.
“Parkside is part of the largest hospital redevelopment project in New Zealand’s history and close to $1 billion of new hospital facilities for Canterbury. It will complement the new hospital at Burwood opening next month and Outpatients Building and Acute Services Building opening in 2018.”
