Increased immunisation

The target: The national immunisation target is 90 percent of eight-month-olds will have their primary course of immunisation at six weeks, three months and five months on time by July 2014 and 95 percent by December 2014. This quarterly progress includes children who turned eight months between April and June 2014, are enrolled in a PHO and who were fully immunised at that stage. Find out more about this target.

Results summary: The national eight-month immunisation coverage for this quarter is 93 percent, a 0.5 percent increase from the previous quarter, and the national health target has been achieved. Thirty two PHOs met or exceeded the 90 percent target this quarter.

Better help for smokers icon

Better help for smokers to quit

The target: The national target is that 90 percent of patients who smoke and are seen by a health practitioner in primary care are offered brief advice and support to quit smoking.  Manaia Health PHO and Procare Networks results are above 100 percent as, in addition to offering advice in primary care settings they contacted patients who had not recently attended their general practice to offer them brief advice and support to quit smoking. Results summary: The overall performance of the Better Help for Smokers to Quit target this quarter is 86 percent, a 14 percent increase from the previous quarter. Twelve PHOs have met the 90 percent target, and 26 PHOs have improved their performance by more than 5 percent this quarter.

The target: This target is 90 percent of the eligible population will have had their cardiovascular risk assessed in the last five years by July 2014. Find out more about this target.

Results summary: The national quarter four result for the More Heart and Diabetes Check target is 84 percent, an increase of 6 percent from the previous quarter. Eight PHOs have met the 90 percent target and 16 PHOs have improved their performance by more than 5 percent.
