Increased immunisation

The target: The national immunisation target is 85 percent of eight-month-olds have their primary course of immunisation at six weeks, three months and five months on time by July 2013. This quarterly progress result includes children who turned eight months between April and June 2013, are enrolled in a PHO and who were fully immunised at that stage. Results summary: The national eight-month immunisation coverage for the fourth quarter is 91 percent, a 0.3 percent increase from the previous quarter and 6.3 percent above the national Increased immunisation target. Thirty-two PHOs exceeded the 85 percent target.

Better help for smokers icon

Better help for smokers to quit

The target: The national target is that 90 percent of patients who smoke and are seen by a health practitioner in primary care are offered brief advice and support to quit smoking. Find out more about this target.

Results summary: The performance of the Better help for smokers to quit target is 57 percent, a 6 percent increase from the previous quarter. Although only one PHO met the 90 percent target, 17 PHOs improved their performance by more than 5 percent.

Heart and diabetes checks icon

More heart and diabetes checks

The target: This target is 90 percent of the eligible population will have had their cardiovascular risk assessed in the last five years to be achieved in stages by July 2014. The current stage is to achieve 75 percent by July 2013. Find out more about this target.

Results summary: The national quarter four result for the More heart and diabetes check target is 67 percent, an increase of 8 percent on last quarter. Thirteen PHO’s met the 75 percent target, and 18 have improved their performance by more than 5 percent.
